Doctor Jerry Farrell on why someone should choose his practice
I think that the Henry Ford model of care, which is Midas Muffler: come in, problem-oriented, like we were trained, is severely lacking. Problem-oriented: what’s your chief complaint? We’re all trained that way, but people are coming in with multiple agendas. They’ve got their chief complaint, they’re worried about money, they’re worried about their kids. They’ve got a lot of competing and interlocked agendas in their life, and I think having a doc, having me mindful of that, it’s priceless, really, for the right person. If someone’s coming in, and we fix his tooth, it’s like, “Okay, I got that.“ But when someone’s coming in, they’re scared, they’re worried about body integrity, they’re worried about how to preserve something, and the scary aging of life, that’s kind of where I live.
